How would people have reacted to Mother Brain's demise?

I doubt they were as happy as you might think.

The populace was completely brainwashed (no pun intended). Mother Brain was all they knew. It was quite the Orwellian society.

It's the same thing that happens in places like North Korea: the people could revolt, but they don't want to. Rolf was probably hated, not loved, especially since there was almost certainly a ton of propaganda calling him the enemy of the people and stuff like that after the Climatrol incident.

Besides that, they suddenly had to work and no longer were given rations by the government. There was a lot of uncertainty. People don't like that.

Wide spread panic I'd say as they now have no food or resources and is there anyone who even knows how to produce any goods left?

Rolf is already public enemy no 1, so nothing changes there.

Probably not well. People relied on Mother Brain for everything.

I’ll admit civilisation in PSII always seemed so cool to me. A futuristic world that’s actually fun to live in and where you can enjoy yourself? Yes please!
