I'm not sure if this is simply a translation error, or whether it's a sort of foreshadowing to show how Rune has a very...well, let's say advanced mind

I'm pretty sure it was a magic trick, yeah. A bad translation error... eh, I doubt it.

Could be a translation error, could be that Rune just knows all. Afterall, he did know that Alys was dying even though Chaz never told him. It could be that Rune has some sort of telepathy and can easily read the mind of those with limited intelligence such as Chaz.

Interestingly enough, Rika also knew that Alys had taken a turn for the worse.

Rika is sensitive to Dark Force's evil energy, just like Rune. They both sensed it acting on Alys at that moment.

But why? Is it because Rika was created using ancient knowledge? She's obviously very different from a human/Palmanian (having no childhood, etc).

When I was young, I thought that Rune knowing Chaz’s name was surely some sign of his magic. However, nope, it was just an error in localisation.
