What would PSV be like?

So it seems a lot of fans of the classic series have moved on with their lives, but phantasy star has always been my favorite series despite plenty of titles being released after the classics. The online games were decent, but they just didn't have the same feel that the classics did ( and still do ) for me. Although I don't see it ever happening, unless a phan makes a game, but I would love for the classics to get a new addition. Many people are happy with the way it ended, including me, but I will always want a PSV. It wouldn't have to be in Algo or anything, matter a fact I would love a new world to explore. I've considered making my own PSIV story mod, and am still thinking about it. There is a lot of work done thanks to freshfeeling and anyone else who has compiled resources on mechanics and data.

So what would everyone like to see if a PSV ever was mad by Atlus, Sega or a just a phan? New world, wrap things up with algo, new evil, great light?

If I ever did make a story mod, I would probably start out in Algo, but it would be more of an opening for a second game and a real continuation in a new world. It would be more the characters trying to rebuild and stabilize the planets after the events of PSIV. I actually have an idea of what I would do on this already. Interested to hear what you guys would do though, either to wrap things up with Algo, or continue in Algo or a new world.

*edit* I just noticed there is another similar thread, but there was no real answer besides psiv wraps everthing up nicely or that there is a psv (pso). SO if anyone would like to talk more, I am would like to hear what you would like to see since I am considering making a story mod, not necessarily in algo tho. I would be more than happy to share my thoughts too if anyone is interested =P

The most common thought is that it would be Phantasy Star Online.

But depending wher SEGA wanted to go with it, it could be a prequal showing what happened before PS1

There are several directions you could go for PSV. Here are a few that could be done off the top of my head,

- Simply take whatever the initial plan was for the Sega CD PS4, make it and call it PS5.

- Dark Force was destroyed forever and all eternity at the end of PS4, but that ends up being just the physical body. In the astral realm/PS afterlife/something like that Alis, Rolf and Alys team up to destroy Dark Force on a deeper level than physical death.

- Go back to the very beginning and split it into two quests like Sonic Adventure or even two different games. In one you control Lassic and go down the path to the dark side and world conquest. In the other you control Nero Landale and his band of outlaws fighting against the system, see Odin get turned to stone and have it end where PS1 begins.

- Go through the world of PS4 through Alys' eyes before the start of PS4. Explore her rise as a hunter, explain why she turns into a blushing pile of estrogen around Rune, see her try to make something out of Chaz, etc.

- Start between PS1 and PS2, exploring some kind of drought disaster than necessitates the creation of Mother Brain, with you being part of the effort to create Mother Brain and save the planet from immediate death.

- Go XXXX years into the future with a new group of heroes fighting against those bastards from Earth who are now trying to purge the Algo system of all life and conqueror it for themselves in open warfare.

It would possibly be connected to PSIII somehow. If you don't buy the Aron/Time Warp theory with DF ending up on Earth and corrupting the Earthmen, then DF is still on the Alisa III somewhere in the universe.

I do wonder what things would have been like if SEGA were better managed in terms of consoles.

They shouldn’t have bothered with the CD or 32X and just focused on optimising the Saturn.
