Who is the icon of Phantasy Star?

I was in an argument about of all things Final Fantasy about why 7 was the best one.

I said that it was because Cloud is the iconic hero and Sepheroth is the iconic villain of the series.

So I was wondering who is the Ion of Phantasy Star?

For me its Alis. She was the original and is still the best.

As for the villian. I dont think its DarkFalz, as he is more a thing than a villian. Its a tough one. Lassic, Neifirst or Zio could be it easily.

Alis Landale. She is the progenitor of the series, is connected to every event, and is in one way or another in every game: Rolf's nightmares in II, the name of the Alisa-III in Generations of Doom, known as the wielder of Elsydeon in IV, as well has having that statue and appearance in the flashback. The only games in the classic series she's not in are Phantasy Star II Adventure and the Phantasy Star II: Character Text Adventures.

As for villain, I actually would say it's Dark Falz just because it appears in every core game as well.

Nah, definitely Alis, at least for the original four games. Beyond the originals, I can't really say, as I've only played the first PSO. (But the rappies do show up there! As does Dark Falz/Force/whoever.)

Since PSO and onward you could create your own character for the most part it's hard to put a face to a specific character, I'm more inclined to look at the mascots that keep appearing in the games for who the icons are these days.

Today in PSO2 the following mascots appear: Rappies, The Cake Sisters, and Myau (Or Nyau as they're calling him.)

The antagonist is definitely dark force or falz. While Alis is the icon, don't forget about lutz. He was actually in 3 of the 4 games, and without his cryogenic sleep and telepathy ball, the solar system would have been $&@#.
