Sari. No contest. A reliable heavy hitter is more useful than a slicer character of medium strength.

Sari can't use Techniques, but who cares? Only healing techniques are worth anything in PSIII. If Rudo is the Brock Lesnar of PSII, then Sari is the Ronda Rousey of PSIII. She does not mess around. Everything about her is just badass.

Anna is good, but you don't lose much of anything by switching her out. A party of Rolf/Rudo/Amy/Kain is just fine. Sari, on the other hand, is downright dominant.

To be fair, the buff Techniques are very useful as well, because they get more powerful as their levels rise, and they stack.

I suppose, but the only battles I ever have used them in are Rulakir and Dark Force, and even then, they are far from necessary.

I wanna know who Sari's father is. Whoever he is, he must be one badass MF. Lena is horribly weak, the worst character in any Phantasy Star game by far, and she gave birth to Sari, who is seemingly born to fight.

I recall an in-depth look years back to see if Lena really did suck. Turns out that she's very similar to Rhys, but not being able to use swords really hurts.

You also get her so late in the first generation that getting her up to speed is time consuming and wholly unnecessary.

Anna's damage output is vital in my opinion. You fight a lot of random battles in PS2 and you need someone that can deal out the hurt. Especially after loosing Nei.

Sari is good at what she does, but in truth Siren is rather weak so a heavy hitter isn't vital. Also Crys is my least favorite character to play as.

And as for Lena, she is perfectly good and does contribute a bit of damage if you level her a bit. But yes your both right, its the end of Rhys quest and she just along for the ride at that point.
