List of things that are in PSI, PSII, and PSIV

Postby etony33 » Tue Aug 04, 2015 4:48 pm

Aeroprism
Dark Force
Noah/Lutz
Planets of Motavia and Dezolis
Ryuon*

*-I am making the assertion that the place commonly known as "Twintown" in Phantasy Star I is actually Ryuon. The layout of Ryuon in PSII is almost exactly the same as the layout of Twintown in PSI.

These are what I can think of off the top of my head. I am almost certainly missing some obvious ones. Help me out.

Possibly Laconian Sword/Neisword/Elsydeon? Maybe? Are they the same?

Do the places have to be visitable?

If you take PSI's Dezoris map and turn it sideways so that north becomes east, you get a map that looks very similar to PSII's and PSIV's Dezo(lis). Which means the nameless town would be Ryuon. However, the remake of the original game, Phantasy Star Generation: 1 has decided that it's Aukba.

(the website's maps really need an overhaul...)

The Neisword and Elsydeon definitely aren't the same sword. However, the Laconian Sword could be argued to be the Neisword or Elsydeon before enchantment.

I don't know. What did you have in mind?

What makes you say that?

There are places visible in all three games, but not always visitable. Like Skure, but that's probably a stretch.

Anyway, here are some places:
  • Uzo, even though it's not a village in PSII.
  • Paseo
As for the Neisword being a separate weapon from the Elsydeon, that's mostly because the Compendium talks about the Elsydeon and the Nei series of weapons as distinct items: "The assembled comrades created the Nei series of weapons and Elsydeon to guide the heroes foretold to eventually appear and prepare them for Dark Force's rebirth.". They also have different properties, made evident by PSIII, which also has a Neisword. A Neisword is a sword strengthened with the power of Nei, while the Elsydeon is a sword sheltered by the spirits of heroes who fought for Algol.

Paseo? Unless they renamed it Aiedo (which has crossed my mind), there's no Paseo in PSIV to my knowledge.

Thinking about it, I confused Piata with Paseo. Oops.

I mean...2000 years is a long time. Think about our planet 2000 years ago. How many places still exist now that existed then? Rome? Athens? Jerusalem? Not many.
