Odin gets my vote for one reason: the Laser Gun. It is so incredibly helpful.

Nei starts out great, but she gets pretty weak defensively by Climatrol (the fact that the Fiber Vest is her best armor doesn't help). She can use techniques, and Odin can't, but what techniques does she have? RES (which is basically useless within battle once you even progress a small amount), ANTI (which is fine), SAK and NASAK (does anyone ever use these? I don't).

Nei's a sentimental favorite. Nei is awesome. But as far as usefulness within their respective games, Odin wins.

Odin is good. But his big weapon the Lac Axe misses too much and is almost completely useless against DarkFalz and not much better against Lassic.

Nei is a great damage dealer early on and your healer until you get Amy, and then your healer again after I ditch Amy for Anna. Nei is also my favorite PS2 character. I feel it wrecks the game a bit when she dies.

I sent you a private message, I don't know if you ever got it or not, regarding my custom version of PS II where Nei doesn't die.

Also, I don't even bother using the Laconian Axe. His guns are so good. They never miss, and they hit every enemy.

DarkMyau, wanna know what happens to the game if Nei doesn't die? I'll tell you what happens.

Nei doesn't really do much physical damage to the robots (well, nobody does except Rudo). Her max level, as with all characters, is 50. However, Nei's level 50 is more like level 25 for anyone else. I did give her new equipment, but it doesn't change the fact that she's a complete liability by the time you are on Starship Noah. I also gave her NARES at level 35 to make her at least a little bit better.

In short, it doesn't wreck the game, it makes the game easier when Nei dies. It allows you to have Rudo, Anna, and Kain or Amy for the rest of the game, rather than Nei.
