Rom Hacks for Phantasy Star Gen1?

Hello.

New here and been scouring the internet for rom hacks for this game but I can't find any. I did find the English translation which is awesome!
I was looking for the following
1. Is there a way to change the soundtrack in this game?
2. If there is a rom hack that makes the game harder like the original phantasy star that would be cool.

I have seen rom hacks for the older games on older systems like sms and genesis. Is it just a lot harder to do rom hacks or change the soundtrack on a playstation 2 game?

AFAIK the English translation is the only rom hack you can find over the internet. If you're interested in hacking this game, you need to learn about the playstation 2 hardware and assembly for the MIPS processor. Hacking for this console is much harder because it contains a lot more memory than older consoles, resulting in bigger roms obviously; there's also less documentation than other older consoles such as Genesis and SMS.

I would say try contacting the people who worked on the translation as they know the inner workings of this game to some extent
