Who married who?

Its been debated a little here and there as to who Rhys married. Well why don't we all just say who we thought married who.

So as for me

I think Rhys married......Maia.

He went on a very long and dangerous quest to find her, and don't forget he was 5 seconds away from being married to her in the first place. Now as for the whole "racist against Layans" thing. He still travelled with Lyle after he found out and even trusted Lyle to watch his back in all the fights they were in, including against the King of Cille himself. So if he was racist, then why didn't he just take Lena from Shusoran and return to Landen? Because he wanted Maia, that's why.

So that why I think happened.

Now onto Ayn. He married........Thea

Ayn and Thea are second cousins. And thus can marry, they would have known each other since they were born and would be close. Considering that during the war with Siren, they both loose their kingdoms and families. Ayn and Thea would both be wanting something familiar. That would be each other.

As for Sari, I would say her bitterness and directness would have put Ayn off her, not to mention that Sari hates Rhys. Ayn wouldn't like to hear his dad constantly being trash talked. Also finding and moving to Azuria was his whole quest.

So who I think actually confronted Dark Force and saved the day...well for a while anyway.

It's generally but loosely thought that Rhys marries Lena and Nial marries Alair and Aron's story/generation is the correct story path as Aron's ending links PS3 to the other PS games. This is something I explore in my game a little and try to link and explain everything much better.

Rhys seems to live in a very old school traditional/classical style of Kingdom, it could be assumed that Lena was choosen or a pre arranged marriage for him and he wanted to marry Maia against his fathers wishes. Remember his own father throws him in the dungeon which would suggest they could have a bad relationship. The problem with PS3 being rushed is alot of this is open to debate.

Rhys and Lena's relationship isn't explained well. The Japanese version reveals that they were betrothed, but when they meet in the dungeon, Lena acts as if they didn't know each other.

Black Sword made a good case in his fanfic series that Rhys married Lena both because he got to know Lena better and out of loyalty to his kingdom.

Another argument against Maia is that she's amnesiac, and thus is mostly a blank slate. Who she really is is left up to Rhys's imagination, and thus probably created his own image of her.

I have no real opinion on the other marriage choices, because the game gives us very little to work with.

I know there is no real proof as to who married who, I doubt SEGA would have put any in even if they had more time.

I didnt talk about NIal.

He is a tough one as he meets Aliar for a few seconds...all up, but spend a lot of time with Laya. So how did he get along with Laya? Was she friendly? chatty or a giant snob with a wholeir than thou attitude?

She has always come off to me as a bit of a snob. She even tells Adan and Gwyn to mind their manners and always seems to be a bit over formal. Alair seems friendlier really.

Nail is royalty though so Laya would probably suit him, and as I mentioned he only met Alair briefly and fought her brother.

I just dont know really. It could go either way soo easily. I wonder who he was betrothed to?
