Phantasy Star Gaiden

Heya, new person ahoy! :D

I have a question if I may:
What is the difference between the 'BIG FONT' and 'SMALL FONT' translations? I understand the terms big and small and what font is obviously, but when playing them I didn't notice a change in the text size at all. Maybe it affects text that is not at the start of the game though

The only other question I have is rather non-related, but why was the decision made to make the Phantasy Star 2 text adventures (which only really exist to bulk out the Phantasy Star 2 characters after all), only available on such a small service, only in Japan, on a system that hardly ever worked (from my limited knowledge of the Sega CD).
I do wonder how many people ever actually got to play it in its' original form!

I did some digging as the translation team's website disappeared. I found this information in the ps-g.nfo file included with their download:
psg-.nfo wrote:Patch pstara.ips is the origional Sega english font that was in the japanese release of PS-G. pstarb.ips is a new wide font we inserted. We released both so you could use which ever you liked most.

OH so it's a wideness/thickness issue rather than an actual size issue? (that could sound so wrong out of context).

I never thought of this until now, but running two PSPs side by side would be a great idea in this case!
Doing that right now and it seems obvious I can't believe I didn't think of this before :P Thanks for the answer, much appreciated! I much prefer the 'small font' as it just looks less bulky overall I guess.
