Can Nightmare be killed in Generation 1?

I am talking about the dream boss in the governor's mansion before you get Noah.
You can kill it in the original.
I have been leveling up (29) and still cannot kill it and I am starting to think it cannot be killed.
Anyone know?

Odin is getting so strong, pretty soon he will be able to heal more than Nightmare hurts.
So, in a few more levels I will be able to see for sure...

As far as I remember, yes, it is possible to defeat the Saccubus/Succubus creature, although it's very hard to do -- especially at that stage in the game. I think it has something like 255 HP. Somebody else might have the actual stats on it.

They're wondering if it can be killed in the remake, though.

It's something I thought about trying in my next playthrough, but it's possible that it's one of those "invincible" bosses. =\

It's very killable, but the reward is amazingly paltry (something like one exp. and no meseta or vice versa.)
