I also have a pic where most of the chars are lvl 99,but that's obviously a hack as well, just to give an idea of their TRUE lvl 99 stats.

Look at the diffrence between Alys and Rika's stats.

Phantasy Star II: Rolf at LV39 or so, Rudo, Anna and Amy around LV35, and the rest around LV25.

Phantasy Star III: I'm not sure. I know that on one save file I grinded until it took too long to get to the next level. I think Crys was LV22, Mieu and Wren were LV65, and Laya and Kara around LV20.

Phantasy Star IV: everyone around LV50.

Phantasy Star Gaiden: uhh... LV40?

Phantasy star I: Most characters were around level 25-30. I'm not entirely sure since I don't have a save state and it's been literally years since I played it.

Phantasy star Gaiden: More or less the same as in PSI. Again, it's been years since I played it...

Phantasy Star II: Rolf was at level 41 and the rest were around level 30 or so.

Phantasy Star III: Crys was at level 12, BenoitRen, err... Mieu was at level 50 (same as Wren), Laya at 45 and Kara at 3. This was somewhere in town before I actually entered the last dungeon.

Phantasy Star IV: Chaz was at level 39, Rika at 42, Rune at 37, Wren also at 37 and Raja at 38. And again, this was outside of the fissure before I actually went inside. I leveled up a bit more before actually reaching the Profound Darkness.

I had everyone reach lv 50 in PSII (on emulation, with speed like 10 times faster) gaining my XP in the nei weapons towers.
In PSIII my brother went up to level 39 with Crys if I am not mistaking with Wren and Mieu being level78 I think.
It was reaaaaaally long.
For PSIV I went up to the level 98 with everyone (with like 10 battles to go until level 99)including additional characters when I played it on genesis.

I am not a maniac, it's just that I play really few games and I fell found of phantasy star.

Phantasy Star II : Rolf : 42 , Nei and the lot 35-40.
Phantasy Star III : Still workin on that one.
Phantasy Star IV : All Characters Around 39 - 50

AirWoIF, Tue Jul 21, 2009 4:07 pm wrote:PSII: Rolf - 45, others about 37-39.
PSIV: Everyone 99. I gained XP in the cave of elsydeon, lvling up only chaz up to 99 and about 2-3 hours just for fun after that. When I got out of cave with Elsydeon, everyone was 99 lvl :)

Lyla2284, Tue Jul 21, 2009 5:27 pm wrote:Heavy, hey?Didn't you run into the infamous lvl 99 bug in PSIV,AirWolf.I know that when I played PSIV,I don't know how many fans have encountered this but,the stronger Alys is,the more powerful Rune will be when you finally get him, instead of being around lvl 25,depending on how high Alys' lvl was when you finally took her up,Rune's lvl would be around the same or two lvls higher than Alys'.ie,if you took her up at lvl 40,Rune would be round about 38 or 39.Makes the game a piece of cake. Smile BUT,one big BUT,if you trained Alys all the way up to lvl 99,Rune,instead of lvl 97 or 96,would also, for some strange reason,be lvl 99.And he loses ALL his skills after Diem, making him a sitting duck, and rendering most of the more powerful combination attacks useless. Sad

That's all I wanted to share.I'm sure many fans have encountered the same problem.

Lyla2284, Tue Jul 21, 2009 7:25 pm wrote:Next time you play PS4,try it.Once Alys is at a decent lvl,say round 20 or so at Zio's Fort, kill everyone off and only train her.If you playing on an emulator, you can play at turbo(that's what I did)and she'll gain 2 to 3 levels every five minutes or so. Once she's around level 37 or so,which isn't a hard feat, take her up... After that bastard Zio hits her with the Black Wave, find Rune and hopefully he'll be at lvl 35,and will have mastered EVERYTHING! :D

Agreed :) PS II Much more difficult then PSIV, and I completed PSII on original cartridge, without any speedhacks etc., man, this was so hard and loong!

the game isnt just about battles and bosses, the game should be about figuring out the game

there is nothing to figure out in PSIV, you just walk thru it and go/do the next thing it tells you to. at least in PSII you didnt know you were being directed the entire game! :?

PSI is more challenging, but even so id like to see an even less linear PS, a completely open field with no clue as to what you are supposed to do next 8)

Lyla2284, Wed Jul 22, 2009 5:21 pm wrote:Yep,those cutscenes make PSIV a breeze.Like the game is holding your hand all the time, directing you where to go.That's not the case in my remake. You have to complete certain quests before you progress the storyline, but I'm not giving any spoilers. :P
