Ya know what'd be cool? (at least for me)

Postby Wing-0 » Sun May 31, 2009 5:59 am

Since Sega is making "all star" products (tennis and a racing game is coming), a fighting game with LOADS of Phantasy Star characters would kick LOTS of ass... Wouldn't it be cool as hell to have Alis going head to head against Chaz? Or maybe even have Karen VS Red Ring Rico... Hell, I'd love to see Rolf VS Ethan. That'd be fun.

Who in here likes fighting games?

That'd be cool indeed. As long as special moves aren't complex button sequences. That's why I like Smash Bros.' system so much.

Numans were made for physical fighting. I DEMAND numans in a fighting game.

Would it be possible to make some kind of storyline justification for all the different characters to meet and fight, or would it just be "because it'd be cool"? Not that that wouldn't be reason enough, mind.
I wonder what the people will see in the final days?

They should do a remake of Fatman/Slaughter Sport.

I can think of one! A tournament inside the Elsydeon.

Nah...

That'd only justify the classic PS characters mangling each other.

Now then, if you go for the Great Light excuse, you can put all of the franchises (Well, I dunno about Zero). And yes, Mono. Numans would HAVE to be there. Rika, Nei, Sue, Karen and even Maya would kick a lot of ass.

Do we take into account that androids can regenerate, or would that just not be fair?

I, personally, would love the chance to play as any character and beat Hugh and Lena into oblivion for being so damn useless.

Doubt Sega'd be up to it. Though I always thought a Sega smash brothers game would be pretty amazing. Alis vs. Sonic, Alex Kidd, Vyse, and Gillius Thunderhead, that'd be pretty cool.

As for a PS fighting game? Maybe someone here is familiar with the MUGEN fighting game maker. That could be an interesting project.

I am familiar...

I know MUGEN and have used it before. Problem is, I have nearly no time to even relax, let alone work on such a project... However, if someone did the characters (I'm talking several people), I could work as an illustrator and maybe character designer (as in adapting the different styles into a single one).

Man, Mieu VS Demi... How's that sound?

Oh, or Mieu VS Lou... Mieu uses claws and Lou uses double sabers.

Well, Sonic did show up in the latest Smash Bros, so maybe in the future Sega might allow their other characters to show up as well (if not as fighting characters then at least as assists or trophies)?

I for one would love a good fighting game with classic sega characters... if Sonic got into Smash brothers and a Golden Axe 2D fighter was made in the past, what's to stop a PS one from emerging? Probably only money and time (though a Mugen Engine fanmade one could certainly do it admirably).

The whole "tournament of Elsydeon" has a nice ring to it as a plot device, though.

I was thinking of getting "Sonic's Genesis Collection" for the 360, mostly just for the PS games on it. I'm kind of tired of playing them on emulators. So, I was wondering, is it worth it for the games on it ? How do they play on the 360 ? Did they change anything in the games ?

I tried the demo of the PS3 version.

Postby Wing-0 » Tue Jun 02, 2009 1:55 pm

On the PS3, it ran pretty well. It includes the Streets of Rage games and I think Golden Axe too... I REALLY want it, but I'm afraid I'll have to wait, as I'm saving for a certain little 2D fighter for the PS2 called Melty Blood Actress Again... (which is absolutely awesome...).
