What PS are you partial too?

I'm just curious with Phantasy Star pulls on your heart strings the most. PSIV has made me cry many a time (psh, that's so sad XD). But you know... there's just that one Phantasy Star that you just can't like... let go. It's hard to explain. It's just like... you can't seem to let go of the game after you play it. And each time it's even mentioned you get nostalgic(sp?).
Ok, but enough of that feelings crap. LOL What's your favorite Phantasy Star? And why, exactly? If you like all of them, try explaining exactly why you like each one. ^_^
Mine's IV. ^_^ But I'm getting partial to II. I just really love the characters in IV. And how they grow. Like Chaz... I hated his guts in the beginning. I was like "What a whiney brat!" But towards the end of the game, I started to respect him a lot more. ^_^
[Edit by smam on [TIME]1085171908[/TIME]]

I am partial not to a game, but to an specific (and unplayable) part of it. To me the most beautiful and touching bit of the Phantasy Star saga is the story of Orakio and Laya. Too little was told, but there´s is too much to be revealed.
All we know is that they were enemies, leaders of their people, throwing themselves in a deathmatch for the control over Alisa III. But at some moment they realized that they were being used by a greater evil force, and joined their strenght against the common enemy. They left their former allies (Rulakir, Siren, Lune, Alair, Miun) and fought Dark Force together, and only the two of them were able to defeat the source of all hatred.
And the way to defeat hatred is with love.

I can't pick a favorite. I like them all for different, equal reasons.
PSI
-Fun to play
-Non-linear
PSII
-Leveling up is fun (to me)
-Great underlying story
PSIII
-Great underlying story
-The Generations system
PSIV
-Great story
-Great battle system
I liked the music and characters of all of them, too.

PS IV was my very first RPG experience, so, naturally, it will always have a special place in my heart, because of that.

I love PSII the most because it is tragic all the way. Just thinking of rudo losing his family, the one sided love beetwen Nei and Rolf, the desperate tears when Nei died because of her older sister...
Moreover, after having had the whole planet victimised by flood, your party try its best in order to free the dams and saving every body. Though, despite their efforts they are captured lik criminals, this story is logical, every thing is connected and you can't blame motavian who intend to capture your party but it is so... sooo...

wosu leaving the room to cry

and after that, what happens to your party is even wo... Woooo... worse... beuhhheueuuuuuuu

went out again

[Edit by Wosu on [TIME]1085185272[/TIME]]

Phantasy Star 2 has a special place in my heart as it was my first RPG. If it werent for that I would dislike it for one reason only: The characters have next to no personality.
I still enjoy its Dark Force though. If you think about it many people consider Omega Weapon of FF8 the hardest RPG boss in existance but if you were to convert the damage DF did, his HP, and TP into Final Fantasy levels he would be dealing about 9000+ a hit, have at least 5000 more HP than Omega, and a load more TP than Omega's MP.
That is one more reason to love this game, It has the hardest RPG boss in existance :D

No Xenogears has the hardest boss in existence.
GRAHF
Even when you think you defeated him at the end, he let you win so he could merge with the entity to give you time.
Grahf was never defeated in Xenogears and he royally kicked ass.

PSIV. Loved it, story, battle, music, love, the bond betweent he characters, it makes me happy. PSIV all the way, its my favourite game ever without a doubt. Then PSII I guess.
PS, I found that flippin secrety type boss in the clouds in FFIX harder than Omega Weapon!

[Edit by lutz4ever on [TIME]1085187265[/TIME]]
