I'm not too fond of the gamefaqs kids #) <p>Most of them were still int the cradle when PSIV was released. So many of them never got the chance to grow up with games like Phantasy Star. Their first contact with RPGs might well have been with FFVII, and then we have the hype as well. Most people's first RPG was FF7 sadly thats why its so popular, even tho I really think that game basicly sucks, the music, story, characters, magic system, hell event the graphics suck and I don't base a game on graphics. PS didn't win becuase its not well known. PS4 is coming up and its going to lose also... such crap...

Gamefaqs reviewers/staff are ignorantly pro-FF7. (Example) They did a review of Berserk when it came out for the DC and the first thing they said is Guts is a poor Cloud copy (fighter with a big sword). If they bothered with any research, they'd have realized the Berserk manga was out years before FF7 was made. FF has done some phenomenal stuff for RPGs but it's not the only great series. (Phantasy Star, Megami Tensei, Dragon Quest, Ys.... and that's not going into the strategy-rpg category...)

Stratedgy RPGs are awesome. Fire Emblem, Advanced Wars...I really enjoy them all. <br>I've heard a lot of talk about Ys games and anime...and I heard that a game is coming out for the GBA...are they worth picking up?

1.) GameFAQs is co-owned by CNET now. Yeah, they counteract Ceej's awesomeness.<p>2.) ill-intent, you barely covered the normal RPGs category. <p>3.) LS - Every Ys game (except maybe Ys 3) is worth getting. As for the anime, depends on which one you're talking about... <.<<p>4.) The only "staff" GameFAQs has is CJayC and CNET, and CJayC isn't ignorantly pro-FF7. Most of the reviewers aren't, either. All of you are seriously stereotyping GameFAQs. -.- <p>5.) Chrono Trigger is overrated. Nobody mentioned it, but still.

It truly is a shame most people dont know about the Phantasy Star Series. But a VERY small amount people who play games like FF7 know without the PS series RPG's wouldnt be what they are now more then likely. For example almost every Rpg Ive played owes a bit of credit to PS2, as it was probably the 1st game to kill off one of the heros adding a highly emotional moment to the game.

No, you're right Ace. It's a remake, and a damn nice looking one at that!<p>Uh, I just looked a couple of days ago, and PSIV is up against:<p>*gasps*<p>(((((((((((((((((((((((Super Metroid))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))<p>I'm torn apart. I love both games. But, lets face it, Metroid will stomp PSIV for the simpler reason that alot of people haven't heard/played PSIV and alot of people <i> have </i>heard about Super Metroid. Though I love both games, in the end I vote for Phantasy Star.

The only thing I dont understand is how someone can ask for the Best GAME. They should ask Best RPG, Best Stratagy, Best Shooter, ect because each catagory has its ups and its downs preventing a true Best GAME.
