Two things I do not understand

1) Why the pictures at the intro page of the website disappeared ? They were really beautiful and were adding value.

2) To the contrary, why the shoutbox, that had been shut a while ago (and I won't complain) is still visible ?

The intro page disappeared because there was no longer any need to choose your language, and it was just an extra step to get to the actual home page. At least that's how I understood it.

2) To the contrary, why the shoutbox, that had been shut a while ago (and I won't complain) is still visible ?

My guess is to prevent any confusion from its closure, as some members are gone for months and wouldn't have seen the latest shout. Missagh closed it, so he'll have to explain.

Unfortunately, some of the installation requirements were to change the source code of phpBB so to change those back will be a hassle. Therefore, we will remove the shoutbox upon next forum upgrade.
