I really wish this whole debate had never happened; now I have to resend Tryphon PS generation:1's script all over again just because of a stupid name change. Tryphon, if by chance you see this, stop whatever you're doing regarding the PSg:1 update so I can change Dark Force back to Dark Falz.

Are there any other changes you people want? Should we change Alisa to Arieechere? Are we gonna rename laconia as rhukkhoneye? Stop and let me know right now.

Edit 1 - Sorry if I sound a little bitter. I spent 14 hours off and on working on an update to PSg:1's script and was hoping that revision I sent Tryphon's way would be the last one I needed to do before we were debugging the game. Anyway, it sounds like if he's doing anything, he's working on the bugs in generation:2, so I'll just make the change real quick and pop it back his way...

Edit 2 - Actually, Kyence--and this is important--is Lassic still referred to at any point in PSg:2's script? And if so, what do you call him? And what do you call Alis? I know she has to still be referred to. Because I've been using the original names (Alisa, Tylon, Lutz, LaShiec as per SMS Power!'s retranslation of PSI.)

Don't be in a hurry :)

You know, we spent more than 3 years on these translations. We compiled litteraly hundredth of ISOs, so I'm not too frightened at the idea that I'll compile one more :)

I can't answer your questions unfortunately, since I only took part in the proofreading of the French version. I'm sure Lassic is refered to in PSg2, but only Kyence can tell how he's called.

Thanks anyway. I think I'll PM her and ask. I really wanna get this out. Like, now. Like, before or shortly after generation:2 is out in English.

Been lurking here for a few weeks now, sad to see there were delays over a minor nitpicking of a name :\

If I'm right, the only dialog where "Lassic/Lashiec" is mentionned is during the intro of PSGEN2.

(About this name, I had first used Lassic but switched to Lashiec in the update of the french translation because people said it was the name used in PSIV so I changed it).

Oh, I can ! The answer is in the screenshot joined to this message :) (and there are even the names of the characters of the first game on it).

OK. So not only do I need to change LaShiec to La Shiec, Tylon needs to become Tyrone. Thank you Hiei-. So I do that, and the Dezorian texts, and then ship it out to Tryphon.

Edit - Anyone here know if Tryphon's editor supports the … character, or should I be spelling every ellipsis out as three periods? (Compare the two: … vs. ...)

No, it doesn't. But in fact it shouldn't change anything. Spacing between glyphs in PSGEN1 is much more simple than in a Truetype Font : you have one pixel between the bounding box of a glyph and the next. So typing three periods will be rendered the same than the … character, or even better, if the … character uses more than one pixel at the size I used for the game.

Tyrone? Myau? Weren't they named Tylon & Myaw in PSG:1?
As far as I remember from the conversations in the previous translation project...

So should I change every … to ... ? Or can I leave it as it is and it'll look functionally the same, plus or minus one pixel?

All I'm waiting on now is for Kyence is to get off work and check if Lutz's full name is Mizeris Lutz Isa Lanai. I changed it on the few places it's mentioned already, though.

OK, that's done. Everything should be ready, all I need is that Lutz full name confirmation on Kyence's part. Thank you all so much for helping me out. I can't wait to get to debugging this.

Been away for some time and it's great to come back to this! Can't wait to get this released.

We will work on the PSG2 English translation pages in the coming days leading to the release. If anyone have any content that they would like to contribute to this page or would like to help in any way, please shoot me a PM.

Thanks to everyone for their efforts throughout the years!

I already got it from her. It makes Myau's fumble of his name make a bit more sense with Mizeris at the start, I have to say.

Sandy, I am thinking that we aim to release the public beta of PSG2 first and then release the PSG1 update, maybe a week later? This way, we will bring in targeted traffic to the site who will wait for further updates on PSG2 and will find the PSG1 update most welcome. What are your thoughts?
