Well,my top 5 favorite anime intro during my youth is the following in mix order:

1. Jayce and the Wheel Warriors

2. ThunderCats

3. SilverHawks

4. X-Men (Early 90's)

5. Hokuto No Ken A.K.A...Fist of the North Star

I'm not so sure about the rest, but I'm pretty sure Thundercats & X-men don't count as anime...

Anime is a term commonly used to refer to Japanese style animation (previously referred to as Jap-anime, tho since nobody used "anime" to refer to american cartoons they cut it down to just that)

Afro Samurai & Boondocks are the only two american cartoons I know of that could be tied to "Anime" I think there are more, but I don't remember.
