@rtsoi

It's been a while since I've played through the part you are at so, bare with me if I'm totally wrong about this, but, I think you need to search through each of the piles of rubble in Bortevo. If not, all I can recommend is to skip back several pages in the walkthrough and step-by-step go through making sure to talk to every single pertinent npc MULTIPLE times. The only glaring flaw of this remake (in my opinion) it is how picky and obtuse it is about progressing the story. Stick with it. What exactly does your party say when you consult them in Bortevo? If you still have no luck, perhaps you could upload some video of where you are at and your struggles through youtube (provided you have the means). Unfortunately, without actually being able to see your gameplay, I do not think I could help beyond this advice. Good luck. I hope you get it figured out.

Already searched the other piles. The one next to the save point is where it should be, right?

Myau just keeps saying "Lassic ruined Bortevo, Slob, Jerk"

When I consult, Myau says "Easy pickings", Odin says "Don't get too cocky"...etc cause I just defeated the Wise Dragon and got the Amber Eye...

Did you talk to the guy in the upper-left house in casba who mentions the people in sopia know where the perseus shield is at? You have to talk to him 3+ times to initiate this dialogue. This dialogue between myau and odin sounds like the dragon was just killed and you have to initiate something else to get the ball rolling again. Talking to this fella might do the trick.

Talked to him, talked to a bunch of people who mention Sopia, Drasgow, gas masks, talked to them until they just repeat themselves, nothing...

rtsoi,
it may be silly asking this.... but what button are you pressing on your joystick to search for the item?
Seems like you are only activating the "talk" system.

I believe you should press "O" in front of the pile.

Did you talk to Doctor Luveno's assistant in Gothic? He talks about developing a vehicle to cross lava. Talk to him to see if he says this, then try consult.

Also, did you get the Jara Key?

Yes, talked to Naz...

He just says he "single-handedly built this ship" and not to tell the doctor...

Yes, I have the Jara Key...

Nothing...

I'm sorry that you are having such a problem...this particular item has been a pain to get in the game. It happened to me and others without the translation; it was the reason I gave up trying to play it in Japanese many years ago. It seems like you've hit all the bases. As long as you talked to all of those people, have the Landrover in your inventory, and have listened to the hovercraft guy's yes and no answers, then hit consult, you should be good to go. I know for the guy's yes and no answers you may have to leave town to "reset" the question from him, go back in and have him answer the other choice, then try consult again. I don't recall which junk pile in Bortevo had it, so I searched them all and talked to everyone in Bortevo again, too.

Yes, I tried leaving town and talking to him but he just says he junked it on Bortevo.

Consulting just has Myau saying "easy pickings" and Odin saying not to get too cocky and Myau saying getting cocky can get him turned into stone...

The only thing I can think of trying is talking to people in Scion.

In this case, there's only thing I can recommend you, and it's not a good one...
Better start it all over again, this time using the walkthrough until that point...

Before doing a start over, you may have to talk to everyone in each town in the game, from Camineet to Casba. At this point, I'm at a loss as to why you can't get the hovercraft. You have Hapsby, the NPC says its in Bortevo, others have mentioned Drasgow and Sopia, it should have triggered by now. I played through the game, and got the Iron Claw before getting it myself; however, since I was trying to check all the in-game script, I must have talked to everyone multiple times.

Another thing I can think of is trying to walk into the gas field surrounding Sopia. Unlike in the original game, you can't even try to wander through...you will get a message that says you can't get in. Maybe this is what you need to do.

This seems tedious, but I don't want you to go through the pain of restarting the game. I had that misery of the Lunar remake on PSX...I got to the final part of the game and couldn't figure out why I couldn't reach Luna...turns out I continued from a demo save that allowed you to give a certain item to a character for storage, something removed from the final version. So, I was effectively screwed at the very last part of the game...and had to start over.

The SEGA Ages developers should have really taken the linearity and event triggers down a notch or four. That would be a cool hack for someone to make. I hope G2 isn't as insane.
