No, the PSP will cost $300 at the most.

Ummm...PS Lassic, I live in Canada. I'm assuming that your price is American...and if you work exchange out, your price is pretty much doubled for to get a Canadian price...$600! So I was right...

Ummm...PS Lassic, I live in Canada.
Look's like they're on the right track with the PSP, though. So how would that mean that they're going to fuck up the portable console business? Your assuming too much based on your hate for the PS2.

Look at the console industry today. Sony's all the rage with its consoles, tons of crappy games are coming out, everyone's got/has to get one. Owning a console used to be special. And there weren't that many fanboys. These days, if you don't own a Sony console, you're considered a moron and a loser. Especially if you own a Nintendo product, because they are considered "kiddy". Competitors have it real hard these days because of an ever-growing monopoly.

Stop looking at it as if that is how the world thinks about all this. Cause it isn't. Thats probably how little kids view the gaming world but not the rest.

I noticed Ys VI is on the games list. That sucks! They better not finally bring over a new Ys game and only release it on a portable system!

I think Benoit may be getting at somthing. Nintendo sells far less games with the M (mature) and T (teen) ratings than the Sony and Microsoft consoles do. This may be seen as an aim towards a "younger" audiance. Nintendo is also picky with what they do about things. The NFS: Underground game out on all the platforms, but was not made for online use for the GC only. That pissed me off a lot. It those kind of things that can make you lose buyers and fans. (NFS: Underground is an awesome game)

So, i've noticed, that the GBA had graphics as good as the SNES. So will DS have graphics as good as a N64!? Seems unlikely, but if they can do it then they can. I never really got into the handheld world. I played the original gameboy for countless hours. But after that got boring I never really got back into the hand held world.

It just gets a lot of SNES ports.

Looking at Metroid Prime Hunter and Mario Kart DS and they look almost identical to their Gamecube counterparts. I don't see anything on the PSP side that looks even close to a PS2 counterpart. Including Metal Gear AC!D and Devil May Cry.

The all-knowing-David says the following:
-The PSP has graphics of a PS2 with more VRAM. But since Sony lies a lot with pre-release info and screenshots, we'll have to wait and see.
-The DS has graphics between those of a PSX and N64.

Especially when you look at the graphics of the DS. I saw footage of Sonic tech demo and it looks almost like its dreamcast counterpart. Oh and Metroid Prime is running on the same graphical enging as it's Gamecube counterpart. $ony themselves said that the graphical capabilities of the PSP is between that of the PSone and PS2. ANd they don't lie with press release info. As with every press release, they ALWAYS say that the spcs are not final and are supbject to change. For instance both Nintendo and Sony said they're new handhelds are not in their final design and will probably change before the release date.
*edit* oh and as for the VRAM. I finally learned why the dreamcast has 8mb of vram. It only usees half for TV display. The other 4mb of vram are used for VGA support. This is why the Dreamcast has the capablilities of displaying nice 640x480 grahics on a vga monitor. The PS2 does not have VGA support because it doesn't have enough vram to support it. All this info comes from my brother who is a senior programmer and network admin and system admin. So it is also not likely that the PSP will have more vram than the PS2.

[Edit by HuBBsDoctor on [TIME]1084826156[/TIME]]
