The best villain in the series...

...is Rulakir, hands down, and it's not remotely close.

Everyone else was either an evil entity to begin with or became corrupted for unclear reasons.

But Rulakir? He garners some sympathy. He was not an evil person, but the losses he suffered drove him insane. He's much more of a tragic figure.

What about the shop owner in Paseo who sells Diamond Armour? Hes a villain in my book.

But Dr Mad is a crazed maniac holding a whole town hostage and murders Musk cats.

Also Ryan from PS3. Layans use monsters as soldiers so through that whole cave he is attacking you. Even after he joins you.

Nah, I think you misunderstood what he meant.

It's not apples to apples comparing how much meseta things cost in different games, though.

I don't think Ryan had anything to do with monster attacks. He made no attempt to double cross Nial at any point, and he certainly could have done so. Once he knew for sure where and what Laya's treasure was, he'd have just relayed that message to Lune.

Zirconia=bootleg laconia, or bootleg diamond (just like cubic zirconia). Take your pick.

Zio.
Because we know absolutely nothing about him. Like, whats with his corrupted right claw hand seen in the artwork?
Where is he from? How does he know Magic? Is he a washed out Esper? Is he an industrial musician?

That last one isa joke. But the fact there is little elaboration leads the mind to wonder.

But really, I would say Lassic, too. Was he ever a good man? People mention him as a good king, till being corrupted by a dark religion. But then there are contradictions like that he was never a good man and usurped Alex Ossale, Alis's father, to become Emperor of Algol.
Was Lassic in cahoots with the Earth Men? Did they corrupt him with the dark religion mentioned? We know so little of Lassic other than he is "evil."

But really.

Do you really wish to kill an old man?
That line always made me think.
Is he just another victim?
