Ehh, I didn't really like the 3rd game. The characters walk way too slow, and I wasn't pleased with the confusing map (monitor) seeing how the map is shaped like an oval, but the monitor shows it as a circle. Throws me off course every time.

But I did beat it with all 3rd generation characters. I prefer the Rhys/Maia, Ayn/Thea, Sean one the most.

The plot was, well, okay in my opinion, but overall, I just really didn't like it.

I wonder how many times we have to repeat that the walking speed is the same as in PSII...

I think the walking speed in PSIV is ok.
The walking speed in PSII and PSIII is a (tiny) bit too slow, but not that much that it would make these games any less entertaining. Anyway I always forget the speed factor after few minutes of play.
Anyway. If some think that it's too slow then try it out on an amulator and speed it up by yourself.

Remember Lufia? The walking speed in towns/cities was quite fast as far as I can remember... Nice idea to change the speed in "safe places".

Well said 8) The speed factor in Phantasy Star 2 and 3 is a bit slow, but I never put too much attention towards the speed of the game series.

my main dislikes about PS3 were the battle system and the corny looking enemy animations (giants wiggling their thumb at you... OHNO!)

Still a good game with excellent music and story.

The battle system was/is just bit more advanced (/complicated ?) than in PSII. It looks bit more dull (like some kind of beta version interface) than in PSII, but it has more features: long distance weapons, max four groups of enemies... and so on. I have explained it more in my other post.

And yes. I agree with the musics, excluding the battle musics. ;(

But when you are winning, the battle music turns into an upbeat version of Elvis Presley's Love Me Tender :^P
