what is a frad anyway? i thought maybe it was esper for '...of the kick-ass high level mage' or 'phantasy star' or something.

Frad is a fiber, probably from a native Algolian plant like cotton... with an infusion of adamantium.

I always took it as a contraction of 'Frayed Mantle', implying something really ancient and battered-looking and belying its strength.<p>But hey *shrugs*

Actually it's supposed to be 'Fraid Mantle, because it's afraid of monsters, spells, and cheap fabric softene- *shot*
