Has anybody watched this anime series and is it any good for me to buy and watch it?
I've just seen Series 1 & 2 in the shops, and I was considering how good the entire series is before I choose to purchase it.
--Iceman--

I've seen all of season 1 on Adult Swim..
It's freaking awesome! The Stand alone episodes are stand alone, and there is like 10 complex episodes dealing with the laughing man.
Hell, Episode 9, Chat kept me riveted and all it was was talking in a cyber chat room o.o
The Tachikomas kick ass.
Also, Bateau and Togusa are much nicer in this series, than in the second movie.

I watched SAC while they played them after buying the first 2 DVDs. I can tell you that you will miss some extra stuff that Adult Swim did not show. It depends also on if it was the special versions that had extras like a free CD of case included for 10 bucks more or d just the DVD itself.
Id sagest not getting them unless you are a core fan who can’t live with out them. If you aren’t then you can pick up a block of tapes and set your VCR to record the first season while they replay them.
As for Bateau and Togusa they played more of a support/comic relief in the Manga.
Personally I can't wait to have that type of chat room in 9. But they did make it look too much like a round table talk show then a chat.
