Upcoming Phantasy Star remake

Hello, friends.

My extended Phantasy Star remake is almost done, fortunately against all odds of fan-based games.

Screenshots can be seen in Orakio's blog, where I asked for a title suggestion for this game:

The game is going to be complete, i.e., you can play with Alis from the beginning until the end with all working features (battles, items, spells, dungeons, cities), and fresh new ones, like a new hidden motavian city, new weapons and 12 new monsters. It's going to be released in two languages: English and Portuguese.

In order to offer a little more to Phantasy Star fans, I'm also including two alternative game types, named "Start as Tylon (Odin)" and "Start as Lutz (Noah)", where you can see what happen before they meet Alisa.

There are tons of planned features for the future, and I'm really going to appreciate any feedback.

30 days to go (at most), and I'm going to release it.

Judging from the application icon in the screenshots, it's programmed in Java.

It looks good and if it plays like your other game it will be fantastic.

I've been working on and off on a Phantasy Star remake for some years now, and also creating a RPG Engine in Java. But the last serious effort to make it happen consumed me 330 hours so far.
Regarding the site you said, I really don't know what it is... Is it Orakio's "Gazeta de Algol"? And what about this other game you are talking about?

The only problem with Extended is how it sounds. When you think of Extended, you think of a continuation. In this case, you think of a much longer version of Phantasy Star. While I am extremely excited about what you've done and I think it looks great, I'd definitely recommend going a different route than calling it Extended, as I don't think it does this game the justice it deserves. Mainly because this almost sounds more like a re-imagining, due to the amount of additional content you'll be adding. Something that establishes "Heya, this isn't an official release, but this is a dedicated fan based remake with some additional features".

I hope you don't mind my two cents in regards to the matter!

And what do you suggest as a name? It would be good to be easily distinguishable from other Phantasy Star queries on google. I see the game more as an improvement over the original game, and also as an adaptation to a newer platform (Java).

I'm going to release the game this month, and then I'll provide a link to download. I'm including some screenshots here to get the topic active...

The game is complete and almost ready to be launched, I'm just adding some peripheral features like music/sound volume and automated testing. I'll keep you informed and provide a download link soon.

I'm surprised the player's HP/MP boxed in battle aren't centerd.

I do hope that my comment did not offend you. I more so meant that as I felt the name itself didn't do the project justice, since you were putting in so much hard work and giving such dedication.

I also apologize for not suggesting a name. In terms of a name I think "Phantasy Star Reborn" or "Phantasy Star Redone" better fit the nature. Once again, this is merely a personal perspective upon how I perceive your product, and no offense is meant at all.

I honestly cannot wait to sit down and play it. It looks absolutely fantastic.
