That, or any messages that pops up at the end of a battle randomly. That's why I asked for people playing the game with PCSX2 to report messages in the console when item drop occurs.
I played myself for an hour yesterday and didn't get any item drop (but as I've already said, my machine is weak and can't play the game very fast). I don't remember having seen any item drop during the whole time I hacked the game, so even if you play on a regular PS2, could you confirm (with a screenshot) that item drops occur ?

I didn't touch any graphic file handling routine, so that's not what I suspect.
I changed the text encoding from 2 bytes per character to 1 or 2 bytes per character (to allow more text, since there's a limitation in the size of a text file, and that limitation has been reached twice by the English and the French translations). It produced alignement problems (some data must be written on even address values, which was not more the case with my new encoding). So it required me to change all the text handling routines.
When an alignment problem was encountered, the game crashed on a regular PS2, but not necessarily on PCSX2 (but there's an error message in the console log window). So Hiei- and I carefully played the game to be sure that all these issues were fixed (it was a painful job, which required maybe 100 versions of the game).
I'm 99.99 % sure there isn't any more, but maybe, for a reason yet to understand, there's a routine we never encountered, because it happens so rarely that we didn't notice it. It's even possible it happens more frequently on a PS2 than on PCSX2 (I don't know how the game generates random numbers, it may be hardware specific).
That's why I need confirmation of the fact that items can be dropped, and I need someone havng this occuring on PCSX2, that can show what is in the log window then.
@mziab : yesterday I reread all the messages about this bug, and it's yours that retained my attention. There's one thing that bothers me : why didn't Hiei- encounter this bug when he played the game on his PS2 ?
