Whelp, it's an easy enough fix here, just code up a TOC and have Benoit move the files into a subfolder. Don't know what I'll do about the Fringe, though- I think you have to get Thoul involved to combine threads, and I'd also have to find a way to glue all the comments together and not get double jeopardy on everything.

I read Trying Too Hard, and I liked it. It felt like believable backstory about Hahn, however, I always viewed his mother as much more supportive than his father. When it came to his father, he struck me as the sort who cared, but was really too proud to admit anything. But, would it really come down to them cutting off Hahn's schooling funds? A bit drastic, but for Hahn to neglect his father's family business as an armorer, I can see it in a fan-ficcy. ^^

I'll admit that, as I was reading this, it was feeling as if it was going towards that punchline in the end. Honestly, I've loved to have read more and felt as if I was left hanging with an unsatisfying ending. =P Please add something to this, CJ! XD

Would you believe me if I said I took something out last-minute for the next one? As tili pointed out, these seem to need reorganization into a common banner.

I just loaded up one of my saves and double-checked the dialogue. When you speak to Hahn's Father before Hahn leaves the party:
Father: Hahn!
F: Considering that you are disinherited,
F: You sure have some gall to step into this house!?
F: You don't help in the family business, you just study!
F: What use is that?
Hahn: Pa, right now, the whole planet is in serious danger!
H: I want to help with the power of science!
H: That's why I'm studying!

This right here explicitly states Hahn was cut from his father's will.

Oh, I believe it. I just don't memorize or remember all the dialogue. :P What does his mother say, exactly? I'm curious now (and too lazy to load anything up). >.>

I'm glad I never overwritten my save from right before Zio....
Mother: Hahn! It's good to see you home!
M: Your Pa goes on like that, but really he's very proud of you.
Hahn: I know, Ma... But my feelings won't change!

My conclusion is that his mother is quite happy with what Hahn did, and his father might secretly be happy about it, but he is responding excessively so he doesn't appear to have softened to the thought that knowledge might overcome more than strength can alone.

Also! I forgot to plug my newest story. I'm in the process of getting arcs consolidated into multipart stories per tili's request, but for now, Left on the Doorstep, taking a look at what happened after Neifirst walked away from where she had left her sister.

Gryz has decided to tell you a story, something that might reveal how you look at morality.

Gryz's Tale.

Beyond your review, I am curious as to your answer to his question, too. I'm curious about the validity of a theory attached to the base story.
