Not now, after the translation gets officially finalized.

Does anyone have a save file right after or before neifirst with all of the requirements met to revive nei?

Edit - Also I need one that isnt hacked or maxed out

I've encountered a bug that is exactly the same as another user has posted here.

I don't think I've even clocked in two hours of game play yet and three times now my game has frozen on the after combat screen showing "INDIVIDUAL'S EXPERIENCE".
The music keeps playing but everything is frozen. I have to reboot my PS2. I am playing on an modded PS2.

Since I can only save in town this is a real show stopper.

I've forgotten the name of the chip used in my PS2 but it is a hardware mod.
I burned the ISO using IMGBurn. The CD is a generic 'Grand and Toy' brand name. Same brand CD I used for Phantasy Star Generation 1 which had no trouble.
I'm about to start using a new copy that I just burned (Different Generic Brand Name CD). Each time I burn I use the slowest possible write speed.

I played about about 40 minutes with my original Japanese CD. It did not freeze. I switched back to my original burned CD and it froze after about 15-20 minutes of play time. Always at the same "INDIVIDUAL'S EXPERIENCE" screen.

I'll keep using my Original Japanese CD when I'm XP grinding to just see if it ever freezes with an original disk. I haven't done it long enough yet to be sure the Japanese Disk is always good or not.

Did you download the prepatched ISO from the site or did you patch the japanese ISO with the xdelta patch ?

That's just a guess, but I think those crash encountered by some are due to the way the ISO is made.

I have no knowledge about how the data discs are handled by a PS2. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some aspects of the specification of a standard CD-ROM that would be slightly different, or about which a modded PS2 is more nitpicky than a PC. I remember that my first tries to build an ISO were fails (PCSX2 didn't want to launch them). That's why we used UltraIso, which allows us to replace files in the original ISO without (at least did I think) changing other parameters.

But maybe it wasn't the case.

There are some things we can try :

1) check if every pperson here having encountered the bug did use a modded PS2, and the prepatched ISO.

2) that someone that encountered the bug tries to build its own CD from scratch : patching the original files, build an ISO and burn a CD using several tools so as to find if a particular soft is better suited than UltraIso.

3) Use UltraIso to rebuild a Japanese version, and see if this Japanese version will crash.

We have good reasons to believe the bugs don't come from the patch : Hiei- played it on a PS2, but from a USB key, without any crash from beginning to end (several times). Moreover, PCSX2 is not totally accurate, but most bugs that could lead to a crash either triggers a message in the console window, or crash effectively the game.

So if this is a technical problem of reading CDs, the bad news is that I can do nothing (it's not my domain, and I don't even own a PS2 ), the good is that this problem is surely known somewhere...

I'd like to have reports from people encountering crashes, with the following informations :

1) hardware (PS2 model, modded, name of mod)
2) device used (CD ? DVD ? USB ? size ?)
3) ISO origin (prepatched ? built from scratch ?)

In fact, it would be good that even those who don't have crashes give these infos.

Ive had no crashes running in on emulator or PCSX2. My only issue is I dont really want to proceed without Nei being revived. Played it through twice up to that pt but just cant seem to satisfy all the requirements

Are you following the guide on GameFAQs, Runehasa? It seems to be the most comprehensive guide to Nei's resurrection.

Yeah followed it 3 times. I was originally using a new game + save that was posted there. I am wondering if that save was created using a clear save from PSG1. I was hoping to save Nei without having to do 2 play throughs and without using a hacked save. If you have a save file somewhere close to neifirst I would greatly appreciate it

OK, I tried to create my own image (from Windows 10) and patch it.

I'm hitting an error:

xdelta3.exe -d -s "PSGEN2-JP.iso" "PSGEN2-US_Beta_Version.xdelta3" "PSGEN2-US_Beta_Version.iso"
xdelta3: target window checksum mismatch: XD3_INVALID_INPUT
xdelta3: normally this indicates that the source file is incorrect
xdelta3: please verify the source file with sha1sum or equivalent

I used IMGBurn to create my ISO of the original Japanese PSG2 CD. The ISO is 91,836 KB.
From the error is sounds like xdelta3 doesn't like my source ISO.

As a test I created a new image using UltraISO and it's 105,468 KB and with it I'm also getting the same error.

What do you think I missed?

This freeze feels very random. I was playing again last night and when I first start with my English CD the freeze happened right after the first first combat. I rebooted and played again this time I played for more than an hour before the freeze happened again.

Greetings {Spoilers Alert}

I got my party to level 99, consists of Eusis, Nei, Huey and Shilka , when i fought Dark Falz it took me 8 meigidos just to take him down and 7 megidos for Mother Brain to take her down. Each Megido took about 950 dmg to each respective boss. I am using PCSX2 emulator.

Can i ask is it the same when you all fought Dark Falz and Mother Brain on normal means without level 99 hack? Does it means the boss HP is based on team's levels?

I don't think so, but yeah, seems the Genesis/Megadrive versions had a lot less of HP.

http://www.pscave.com/psg2/enemies/bosses.shtml

It says 7450 for Mother Brain and 9400 for Dark Force in PSGEN2, which seems to fit with what you said.

No idea. I didn't even know that the patch was to be applied to the whole ISO, which is, I think, a bad idea : there should be one patch per modified file in the disc.

Try this :

* open the prepatched ISO in your favorite ISO editor
* extract the whole file structure to your HDD
* with your favorite ISO editor, make an ISO from these files and burn it

There may be special settings when burning a file structure to a PS2 CD, I absolutely don't know and have no mean to test. Maybe someone here is more competent than me on this topic.
