PSCave compromised?

Postby Zucca » Sat Nov 09, 2019 10:40 pm

When clicking the forum link on the front page navigation bar my browser seems to open a ad pop-up/tab every time.

Is this known?

I didn't know about this. When I view the source, I see that a script was added to the HTML header. Will remove it when I get home.

It is indeed a hack. I am working with our host to resolve this. Will post an update soon. Thanks for the report! I would have noticed it earlier if it wasn't that my ad blocker was blocking it already. =)

I have noticed this too, this carries over to the actual site itself, not just the forum. While clicking on pretty much anything, it'll open up some page, sometimes asking to install something. Happens usually only once per new link clicked.

I believe I have fixed it on the main page. Do anyone see this issue being present on the forums?

PS. I am planning on upgrading the forums to the latest version soon. It is about time. ;)

It looks like that did the trick (At least for the main page)!

It was pure luck I noticed it. I have basic ad-blocking on Firefox but I have tons of other measures taken on my home server so that each connected device here will get ad-blocking too.

That said I haven't stumbled into any other odd thing here. :geek:
