Phantasy Star: Eternal Story - Code of Conduct
Certain things are expected of members of PS: ES. Follow them or I will smite you so good that you won't know the whale that ate you.
Do not spam, do not advertise without permission. This is an RP channel, not a billboard.
Do not flame, do not start a hate group against another member or a group of lobbyists to influence the staff. You will treat others respectfully or be booted. One infraction gets you out for life.
Godmodding is just annoying. Know your limitations, for only the GM can just outright say whether or not something is successful. I'm just as aggravated by powergaming.
Sex. A wonderful subject. Go ahead and be as nude as you want in this channel (if the occasion calls for it; don't just disrobe in a shopping center or a cave for no reason. Furthermore, I'd rather it be artistic than purely a piece of pure hormonal cheese. Melfina floating in a tube is one thing; guys and gals talking in the showers is one thing; sleeping in the nude is one thing; swinging around a pole is another. Don't do the latter). On the subject of jokes, there's two kinds: a good joke and a clean joke. Pretty much you can do anything regarding sex except have it in here. Do that in a PM or something, we don't need to see you, or use the Fade to Black rule, wherein it is implied that your character and another bumped uglies but it doesn't actually happen. Fade to black. And one more thing: If you want to avoid a rant, do NOT allow the vague sexual content to dominate your roleplaying. Make a crack every once in a while about how the bad guy's compensating for something with his huge bazooka, poke fun at your fellow players from time to time, notice the EXTREMELY buxom waitress over there, hell, even flirt with players and NPCs on occasion if you desire, but do not do any of these things to excess. ALL subjects are annoying if overdone, don't make this one of them. Find this subject offensive? Well, I'm sorry. I tried keeping a lid on it once, and FAILED miserably to control the teenage American hormone flow. Furthermore: The respect rule pertains to this situation too. ALWAYS be respectful of others, REGARDLESS of the situation.
Swearing? Go ahead, I don't give a crap.

Now that I've scared off all you super-conservatives with permitting swearing and some sexual content (enough for that "Must be 15 or older" rating), I'll scare off you bad typists as well. There's a certain level of communication that I want to see, and THIS is not it:
<N00b69> hey r u nick caligo i want 2 join ur game!!11
I want to see good punctuation, I want to see capitalized letters at the beginning of every sentence and at the start of every proper name. More importantly, I want to see actual WORDS, not shorthand. Do not use "r" for are and "u" for you. If you do, I'll immediately ban you. I'm trying to run a respectable game here, and I want to see respectable language. If you need to take the extra time to type out entire words and put commas where appropriate, I don't care, take that time then. I just want your thoughts to be communicated in an intelligent manner.
Don't mesh in character and out of character (IC and OOC) together. If you somehow got your hands on the GM's plans, remember that your character doesn't know what you do. Second, if you've got some quarrel with another player, leave it aside. If your character has a quarrel with another character, remember that you need not have any animosity towards one another in real life. Put OOC chatter in parentheses () at all times. In short, this is a game; don't bring your personal feelings into it, don't let it affect your personal feelings.

Don't whine and complain to me! If you haven't been participating and fell behind the others, deal with it! You should all be on the same team and helping one another anyway, why do you so wish to compete? Besides, you will catch up in time if you want to. If things aren't turning out the way you intended, that's not my fault. If you aren't receiving all the glory and fame you wanted, well, your whining doesn't give me any incentive to give it to you.
8.5: Thou shalt not ignore that which is on this site! I realize that you don't know about this rule because you obviously DIDN'T READ THE SITE, but since this document EXISTS, I can, whenever I deem it necessary, BAN THE CRAP OUT OF YOU for ignoring this site! I did NOT make it for nothing. EVERYTHING is on here, from the item creation rules to making a character.
The GM's ruling is final, period. Don't argue or you'll receive the trout smacking of a lifetime. Some matters call for mass approval and so a vote is called, but for the most parts, the GM is your god. Don't argue with the rules.
If you commit one of the above infractions and are banned, I'd best not see your nick back in the channel until the ban is lifted. Ban evading is a SERIOUS offense, punishable by the IRC cops that run sorcerynet. Could you imagine being smacked off the face of an entire server?
